Certification Training - Become a Trainer - FAQ's

frequently asked questions

Will I receive hands on experience?
Yes! Whether you are taking the 3-Day or 5-Day FIRST Certification course, you will have hands on experience conducting previews, consultations and actual hands on staging experience.
Do I need previous experience in real estate or interior design?
While experience in either of these fields is helpful, it is not necessary. Through written, verbal instruction, as well as hands on experience, you will have the ability to go home and create a successful business.
How physically demanding is staging? Can I do this alone?
Most aspects of staging will require you to be somewhat physical. You may be moving furniture, painting walls or hanging large pieces of art. For most, vacant home staging is the only part of the business that may require additional help.
Do I have to work full time?
No. This will be your business. You can decide the hours you want to work!
How much money can I make?
Prices vary from community to community but average consultation rates range from $75-$150 per hour with written report. Full service staging ranges from $350 - !!! depending on the needs of the home and average vacant home staging ranges from $800 (partial staging) to $4000+ (full home staging) for a 12-16 week rental period.
How do I find clients?
We will give you specific training and tools to help you immediately begin working. In our business planning section we give dozens of proven strategies to help you gain clients!
What do I bring?
A POSITIVE ATTITUDE! This is the true secret to your success!

A digital camera. The photos you will leave with will be invaluable. You will receive copies of written consultations for the homes we have worked on. Photos of these homes will help you keep it all together.
How should I dress?
You will need casual and professional clothes as well as clothes you can get dirty in. In preparation for your new career, we will do our best to ensure you experience varying levels of staging jobs. We will be interacting with homeowners and agents, conducting consultations, moving furniture and doing some basic packing. We may be stripping wallpaper, painting walls, cabinets or furniture or even digging in the dirt and planting to create curb appeal. Remember, you will always be representing yourself in a professional image and need to dress accordingly – even when covered in dirt, paint or sawdust!
